Sometimes sequels get made, but they don’t quite live up to the expectations of the viewers (a.k.a. it sucks) or it’s just done all wrong. Well, Robert Rodriguez is making another sequel to one of my favorite films, Predator. “What? I thought Predator already had a sequel called Predator 2, not to mention a few other movies called Alien vs. Predator? How could this be?” I’m glad you asked! It is reported that Rodriquez is completely ignoring all of those other Predator films, and made another sequel to the original called Predators (like Alien has a sequel called Aliens). I am really excited and really hesitant about this coming attraction.
The tables have turned as the film is supposed to be about a group of mercenaries trying to survive/escape the Predators’ world. Oooooh, sounds awesome right? Well, just wait. Playing the lead mercenary is Adrien Brody. I haven’t seen him in anything really kickass so maybe that will work. Then there’s Topher Grace. Now, I love Topher Grace, with a vengeance, but I just don’t see him playing some FBI’s most wanted kind of character. I will always see him as the scrawny kid in the basement who gets high all the time…maybe that’s why he wanted to take on this role.
Playing the other bad ass guys are Danny Trejo, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Oleg Taktarov, Walton Goggins, and Louis Ozawa Changchien. I think they do have the potential to kick a lot of butt, but there is also a lot of potential to suck ass. One bonus is that Alice Braga plays a character who is described as “tough-as-nails woman” in Wikipedia, so at least they’re meeting the badass chick quota. Finally, the main predator is to be played by Derek Mears. None of my favorite ass kickers are in Predators, but that doesn’t mean that these guys won’t step up to the plate. I’m interested to see how it all plays out. At this time it is supposed to be released July 9, 2010.

Topher Grace, stop it. You are a COMEDY actor and there is nothing wrong with that. Just like Paul Rudd should probably not have been in Halloween 6, you do not need to be in a Predator movie.
Hmmm – all interesting indeed. Somehow though, if Robert Rodriguez does this, then there IS hope!

I’m intolerably excited to see what Rodriguez does with Predators! At the same time, I am thoroughly terrified by the inclusion of Adrien Brody & Topher Grace. Both excellent actors in their own right; however, I fail to see either as the next great action star. I am fully confident Rodrigues will offer stunning action sequences that will meet all kick-ass expectations, but the casting is in danger of dragging the movie down. Who watches Predator movies for acting? I watch for sweet special effects and mind blowing action. Here’s hopping what could be a truly awesome action movie doesn’t get bogged down by too much story and over-acting.

Wait.I think the cast is good.I mean, Rodriguez just want to avoid all the clichees from these action-movies with their macho-leaders.This will make the movie more interessting (i mean the charachters,developed in the film).Its interesting idea (Rodriguez is Rodrigues , and that’s good). Just have to wait, what will come out.
WOW WOW WOW! This will be interesting, kick ass and ROCK! If anyone could pull off “Predators”, Rodriguez can. Even with my doubts about Brody – if RR put him in the film then he will no doubt surprise us.

Actually it is not the Predators (Yautja) homeworld, I guess if you read the Aliens vs. Predator books that were made in the 90’s you would know that it is called Hunter’s Planet. No Robert did not forget the actual second movie this movie is set in the close time period of the alien movies.

Well, Topher sucked ass as Venom, so, I’m thinking this won’t be too much different.
Okay, O I’m watching this movie. I hate when movies don’t compliment each other.
But I wrote a script called: AVP 3 Irratication. As you guys can recall the last movie was AVP II. My script of AVP III: Starts out with the Alien invading and taking over the Predator planet along with the hybrids of both. Then you have Predator being deployed to Earth to try to erradicate the threat and the Predators come in peace to talk to the world leaders. Expose them to their technology for this intergalactic state of emergency and the humans are aware of the Alien threat. You have Humans with Predator invisible battle suits with all their weapons this time with jetpacks deployed back to the Predators home planet and Predators + Humans together to destroy the root of the problem. The Aliens planet. I have broken down the scenes, premise. But this is just the idea for AVP 3. What do you guys think?
