To our knowledge, no one has successfully and legally licensed a COPO Camaro… until now. 5th gen COPO Camaro owner Andre Miller, from Pitreville, Louisiana, wanted something new for HOT ROD’s 2016 Drag Week, to participate in the Street Race class. Drag Week means it must be street legal, but COPOs aren’t. So, Andre thought it would be cool to see if he could make one legal for the street. Full story inside.

The Official Texas Mile took place earlier this month, and it was where the world record for 5th gen Camaro was set!
Through four and a half years of trial and error this team has learned, bled, sweated and finally managed to accomplish their goal of setting a world record for the fastest 5th Generation Camaro in a standing mile. They were able to make a pass of 225.8 mph.

Here is the video showcasing the EVO Car of the Year test for 2015. Eleven of 2015′s greatest drivers cars are put to the test on some of the world’s most enjoyable, most picturesque roads.
The Camaro Z/28 gets plenty of coverage and they had this great opinion on the car: “In reality its the most pure driving experience of all the cars here.” That’s high praise considering there are supercars among the finalists!

As many of you know Scott Settlemire (AKA: fbodfather) has announced his retirement. This is a small piece of the email that many of us received this week.
Good Evening Camaro Comrades and Firebird Friends!
After 38 years with General Motors, I’ve elected to retire effective this week.
There was a retirement party in place for the past couple weeks, that took place this evening (10-17-2015) at Becky D’s Warehouse (see event photos).
CONGRATULATIONS…Scott.
Thank – you for everything you have done for GM, and the entire CAMARO history. May you enjoy your retirement as much as you have enjoyed your years working with the Camaro.

In case you didn’t know, production has already ended for the 5th gen Camaro convertible and Z/28
As for the coupe, final production of all 5th gens will be Friday, November 20, 2015, making the production run 6 years and 8 months (production began in March 2009).
