History

When searching for a way to celebrate the Wichita Falls centennial in 1982, Roby Christie, of the Wichita Falls Bicycle Club, proposed a bicycle ride – 100 miles in 100 degree heat, coining the name: Hotter’N Hell Hundred.

WHAT CHANGES WILL WE SEE FOR 2024 HHH?

The private parking lot owners around downtown have opened their lots for free parking since the 2022 HHH Weekend and we anticipate the same partnerships for 2024.

In 2023 Friday night and Saturday Afternoon Criterium race Start & Finish lines were moved to the corner of 8th St and Travis - we plan to continue with the new courses in 2024. The Sunday morning Criterium course will be similar to the one used in 2023 but may have a minor adjustment.

All 2024 HHH Weekend Event registrations will be for the live, in-person events only. Due to limited participation we do not plan to offer a virtual Endurance Ride Event this year.

Due to excessive cost increases incurred in 2022 that continued to rise in 2023 we are having to increase registration costs to be able to continue to provide the HHH Events. That said, one of the requests by a number of riders was to provide finisher medals instead of pins and premium t-shirts - we are currently shopping both of these requests!

How do I know if my 2023 HHH registration deferral was recorded?

Everyone that requested to defer their 2023 HHH events registration in a timely manner for an emergency should have received a coupon code from BikeReg that can be used to register for the 2024 HHH Weekend Events. If for some reason you couldn’t join us in 2023 that coupon code may be used toward your registration for the 2024 HHH Events. All previous deferral coupons will expire with the conclusion of the 2024 HHH Weekend of Events.

For anyone that registered for the 2023 Events virtually or emailed us by August 30, 2023 to change their ride to virtual, your ride shirt and finisher pin were sent to you by US Mail by October 31, 2023. If you did not receive your shirt & pin, contact Sandy at: info@weechitah.org .

What happened to the Endurance Ride Family Discount option?

The Family Discount of $5 per registration for family members living in the same household has not been renewed for 2024. In place of that, we will again distribute local free registration coupons for families to register their children under the age of 12 for the 10k ride with an accompanying adult registration.
